Hi, I’m Aliya Porter, a Registered Nutritionist, mum of 3 and a community campaigner.
I am passionate about healthy eating on a limited budget and in as little time as possible. My focus is helping my clients to break down the barriers they have to eating healthily. I use the same principles in my own life and with my own family so I can give lots of practical examples. No food is banned, unless it is inedible of course!
I am an experienced Registered Nutritionist. I have worked in the voluntary sector, the NHS and in private practice. I have 3 children which has helped me to understand first hand some of the challenges faced by parents when it comes to weaning and healthy eating. I have been a Registered Nutritionist since 2006.
I am based in Manchester but can offer services across the UK online.
What is a Registered Nutritionist?
Nutrition covers many fields. There are many people who claim to be professionals who do not have the recognised qualifications to meet your needs. If in any doubt, speak to your GP. Registered Nutritionists have at least 3 years experience and recognised qualifications using science based on evidence. There are certain areas which they are not qualified to deal with though so they will always point you in the right direction. There has been much bad press about nutritionists recently but this is usually about those who are not registered with the Association for Nutrition. You can trust a Registered Nutritionist, just as you can trust a Dietitian.

This blog
My blog contains my own views and are not representative of all Registered Nutritionists. I have tried where possible to research behind the ideas I talk about but all information should be taken alongside professional advice.
I’d personally also like to express that most people that find themselves devoid of health insurance are usually students, self-employed and those that are not working. More than half with the uninsured are under the age of Thirty five. They do not feel they are in need of health insurance as they are young along with healthy. Its income is usually spent on housing, food, in addition to entertainment. Lots of people that do go to work either whole or not professional are not supplied insurance by their jobs so they get along without with the rising valuation on health insurance in the usa. Thanks for the thoughts you discuss through your blog.
Please let me know if you’re looking for a article author for your blog. You have some really great articles and I believe I would be a good asset. If you ever want to take some of the load off, I’d absolutely love to write some content for your blog in exchange for a link back to mine. Please send me an email if interested. Thanks!
Thanks
