Porter Nutrition is run me, Aliya Porter. All the content on this website was produced by me.
I am self employed as a Registered Nutritionist. I can offer one to one nutrition support, weight loss or weight gain support, group nutrition support, weaning workshops, toddler nutrition workshops, and training for health visitors/community workers/voluntary sector staff/GPs (basically anyone working in the community) on nutrition and how to put across nutrition messages. I am also available to professionally supervise nutritionists who do not currently have this kind of support. I also offer consultancy services to food businesses. I am based in Manchester but can offer services across the UK.
I am a Registered Nutritionist with experience working in the community as part of the voluntary sector, the NHS and as a volunteer in London. I currently work on a freelance basis in Manchester. I have 2 young children which has helped me to understand first hand some of the challenges faced by parents when it comes to weaning and healthy eating.
What a Registered Nutritionist is
Nutrition covers many fields. There are many people who claim to be professionals who do not have the recognised qualifications to meet your needs. If in any doubt, speak to your GP. Registered Nutritionists have at least 3 years experience and recognised qualifications using science based on evidence. There are certain areas which they are not qualified to deal with though so they will always point you in the right direction. There has been much bad press about nutritionists recently but this is usually about those who are not registered with the Association for Nutrition. You can trust a Registered Nutritionist, just as you can trust a Dietitian.
I am registered with the Association for Nutrition.
About my service
