You want some support with your diet but you have no idea how to find the right support. If you have a medical issue you know to go to your GP but with nutrition it’s not quite so simple, is it?
There are lots of platforms on the internet which claim to help you find the right nutritionist but which ones are helpful.
Here are some listing sites
Association for Nutrition
This is a full list of all the Registered Nutritionists (RNutr and ANutr) in the country. This is a great way to check whether your nutritionist has the right qualifications to support you and whether they stand by a very strict code of ethics. The listing doesn’t give full information about the services of each nutritionist and doesn’t just include those who take on private clients 1-1 so can require some digging to find the right nutritionist. Each nutritionist will have their own specialism so try and have a chat with a few before making a decision.
British Dietetic Association
This is a full list of Registered Dietitians in the UK who see clients on a private basis. Dietitians are clinically trained so they are well placed to deal with clinical nutrition issues such as cancer, kidney disease, diabetes etc. Each will have their own specialist area so it is worth looking around.
Nutritionist Resource
Nutritionists and dietitians pay to list themselves on this site but they aren’t charged to respond to your request. Bear in mind this is not a full list of all nutrition professionals. It’s also worth knowing before you search whether you need a dietitian, nutritionist or nutritional therapist to help you.
Bark
I have used Bark in the past but when I found out that if you put a request on there the professionals have to pay to answer your request, I was shocked. Bark can connect you with lots of nutrition professionals but bear in mind they will have to pay to email you so you probably won’t get the best responses to your request.
Doctify
Another listing website. Always make sure your nutritionist is registered on the AfN website.
Once you have a few nutritionists to contact
There are many other sites you can find nutritionists. Once you have found your list of people to contact, have a read of my articles “What do nutritionists cost and how to choose a nutritionist?” and “What happens in a 1-1 nutrition consultation?” before you contact them.
I wish you all the best finding someone to support you.
And 2 more tips
And a word on AI – AI can be helpful for lots of things but when it comes to nutrition, it doesn’t always tell you the right things. AI is not a replacement for someone who has studied nutrition, can listen to what you are saying and is qualified to work out whether nutrition information is fact or fiction.

If you would like to have my support, feel free to get in touch and we can have a chat about what you need and I can share what I can offer so you can make the best decision going forward.
